The named agency and/or agent(s) secures and otherwise facilitates the placing, servicing, and renewal of insurance for its clients from a variety of insurance carriers, group benefits providers, and other entities.
The named agency and/or agent(s) is an appointed agent for the insurance companies it represents and provides services to its clients on behalf of insurance companies in connection with the placement of insurance.
The named agency and/or agent(s) may receive compensation in the form of commissions, which consist of a percentage of the premium or a flat dollar amount collected by the insurance companies for the agent’s professional services. Compensation specific to a particular policy or contract are typically disclosed in the insurance proposal or quotation.
The named agency and/or agent(s) may also receive additional indirect compensation, under agreements with one or more insurance carriers, in the form of commission overrides, and bonuses which may be based on volume, new business, persistency and other factors. Any additional compensation is not typically attributable to a particular client and is not a factor on any recommendation as to with which insurer to place business.
There may be situations where the named agency and / or agent(s) is appointed agent of record on an existing policy and the prior agent has in place a commission rate different from what is listed in the chart below. Refer to the insurer’s proposal for that particular policy and / or the compensation disclosure notice previously provided to you by the prior agent to see the in-force commission rate.
The named agency and/or agent(s) will provide clients and prospective clients with additional compensation details for the placement of their respective insurance policies or alternative quotes presented, upon written request.
