Short-Term Medical

You need affordable health insurance in Georgia even between jobs.  That’s where a short-term medical policy may help.

Be careful, however.  There may be better options.  If you have recently lost employer-based insurance you should first consider buying an individual health insurance plan or COBRA insurance coverage.  Short-term medical plans typically do not cover pre-existing conditions.  They do not satisfy the government’s requirement that you purchase qualified health insurance.  So when you go to file your tax return you may owe an Obamacare tax penalty even for the months you were covered by a short-term medical plan.
