COBRA Administration for Humana Plans

For years Humana had a relationship with WageWorks/HealthEquity to provide COBRA administrative services to its group clients free of charge. We recently got word that Humana is transitioning away from WageWorks/HealthEquity.

Existing employers who have COBRA administrative services through WageWorks/HealthEquity must select and implement one of the following options prior to their next renewal date. Any COBRA administration fees charged by the administrator will be the employer’s responsibility.

  1. Contract directly with Ameriflex, Benefits Outsource, Inc., or Discovery Benefits. Human has negotiated discount rates with these three vendors.
  2. Self-administer COBRA
  3. Select another COBRA administrator

During this transition period, our agency will be working with each of our affected clients to determine the most effective way to handle this situation. In the meantime, please contact your benefits consultant should you have questions.
