Angus McRae, CEBS

President

Since I became an independent health insurance broker in Atlanta over 30 years ago, I have been privileged to work with some amazing people – great clients, co-workers, and insurance company representatives.

Most people think of employee benefits as pretty boring stuff, but I love it. Every day I know I’ve been able to help someone in one way or another. I enjoy educating employees on how to be better consumers of their benefits package – and to appreciate how much their employer is spending on their behalf.

My education (a BS from Florida State in 1984 and an Emory MBA in 1989) prepared me to be a well-organized business person. I am blessed to have a wonderful wife, Janet, and two great kids, McLean and Sarah. I enjoy the outdoors and the challenge of restoring a 1966 Jaguar E-Type.

Benefits Consultant

After more than 35 years in the insurance industry, I still find the most enjoyment in helping clients understand their coverages and how best to spend their benefit dollars. I enjoy working on their behalf and of being a resource to them.

I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Insurance/Risk Management at Georgia State University in 1995. To better understand the shoes that plan administrators fill, I completed my Professional Human Resources (PHR) designation and SHRM-CP.

My life is enriched with a wonderful family: husband, Lee, of 30 plus years; two amazing children, Emily and Jacob.

I love volunteering around the community. It’s The Journey and Strike Out Breast Cancer are two of my favorites. I have a small ministry that spreads kindness to others through hand-made items.

When I am not volunteering or crafting, my favorite time is traveling with my sweet family.

My role as an employee benefits consultant is to make your job easier. I often describe myself as an extension of your human resource department. Whatever I can take off your plate so that you can keep your focus on your business, that’s my every day goal.

Being in the insurance industry for as long as I have, I’ve seen some major changes. Understanding benefits can be very complex. My favorite part of the job is to educate employers and employees alike, so that they not only understand how their plan works, but they are confident and strategic when they need to use them. Simply said, I strive to make everyone’s employee benefits experience a positive one.

I received my education at Auburn University and have 25+ years’ experience in the insurance industry. My primary roles include client development and retention, internal and external customer support, and securing companies risk with specialty lines including individual life, disability, key person and buy-sell agreement funding.

I’m a native of Atlanta and love spending quality time with my large family, tinkering in the garden or practicing interior design.

Benefits Consultant

Since joining the family business in 2021, I have been helping small to medium sized businesses in the area with a problem that many face: attracting and retaining talent.

My goal with every client is first off to understand their needs and objectives. Once those are established, we create a customized solution that caters to their employee demographic, is cost effective, and is competitive with similar businesses. I aim to make the entire process as seamless as possible for my clients.

I take pride in being the next generation of the business and am looking forward to helping more businesses around Atlanta. When I’m not working, I enjoy backpacking here in Georgia as well as across the United States, running, discovering great restaurants, and spending time with friends.
